Car warranties are always a good thing to have and it would be great if they would last more than the number of kilometres on paper. Because there are people that want to drive their cars a lot and when the magic number is up, out goes the warranty. Volkswagen Australia decided to change this policy and it can only be good news for people wanting to buy a next generation Volkswagen.
We said a next generation Volkswagen and you read right, because unfortunately the unlimited kilometre warranty is not applicable for the current lot of cars. These will still benefit the 3 year or 100,000km warranty package.
This is unfortunate, but it is still good news because it may set the trend for other car manufacturers to follow, as for example there are already car manufacturers from Japan and Korea on the offer.
Of course, the end-user will benefit greatly from such an offer and the more, the merrier as one would both have many options to chose from and the possibility of driving at one’s leisure without the fear that the warranty will go out the window after a certain number of kilometres or miles.
