Since BMW’s presence at the Geneva Motor Show may be a tad sedate, specialist tuner Alpina plans to somewhat change things.
Let’s face it, the 2011 F10 BMW 5 Series, is what I like to call a simply astonishing car, but it’s just not enough for the guys who want tuning.
The 2011 Alpina BMW B5 Bi-Turbo Touring has a few visual modifications on the styling front but what’s under the bonnet is completely bonkers.
Alpina did stick to the BMW philosophy as the new body kit is different but not yet ostentatious.
The only thing the 2011 BMW B5 Bi-Turbo Touring has somewhat doubtful is the new set of multi-spoke million inch wheels.
Once you get past those you can barely see what’s been done to a BMW 5 Series Touring. Well, apart from the monstrous speeds it can now achieve.
Thanks to an upgraded twin turbocharging system the BMW 4.4 liter V8 now outputs 507 horsepower and 516 lb-ft.
Once you team this monster powerplant to a ZF eight-speed automatic you have a guarantee on getting all those ponies down.
Given the mixture of all these things Alpina claim that their 2011 BMW B5 Bi-Turbo Touring will be able to hit 62 mph in 4.8 seconds and it can go on to a top speed of 186 mph.
