With this year’s release of the 2012 Mercedes-Benz C Class Coupe and that of the 2012 Mercedes C63 AMG we knew it would only be a matter of time before they mixed it up.
Here we are today and the three pointed star is launching the brand new C63 AMG, this time it’s a Coupe.
Wearing a 2012 model year the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe is basically the same as a C63 AMG with two less doors.
That means you get the same 6.2 liter naturally aspirated V8 that’s a multiple award winner and develops 451 or 481 horsepower depending on the AMG package you go for.
All of that power and torque is going through a Mercedes seven-speed Speedshift MCT gearbox towards the rear wheels.
Also depending on the AMG package you go for, the 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe is capable of different performance levels.
The regular version can hit 62 in just 4.4 seconds and it can continue to a top speed of 155 mph.
If the AMG development pack is your spec of choice the 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe can get to 62 mph .1 of a second faster and the electronic top speed limit has been set at 174 mph.
I don’t know how exactly the Mercedes Coupe chassis can take this sort of power but I’m overly confident that the BMW M3 Coupe isn’t shaking in it’s boots yet.
