Chevrolet reveals today the first photos and details on the new Sonic RS, a sportier version of the current Chevrolet Sonic model. According to the company, the Sonic RS will be revealed in world premiere at the Detroit Motor Show in January but will go on sale later this year.
Under the bonnet, the customers will find the same 1.4-liter turbo engine offering 138 horsepower linked to a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
Therefore, there are no power upgrades but the American company says that there will be some chassis tweaks. Of course, the Chevrolet Sonic RS gets its obvious styling upgrades including new 17-inch alloy wheels, a roof spoiler, new rear apron and side skirts.
Inside, the customers enjoy new sport seats along with revised trim and upholstery, aluminum pedals, sport steering wheel and more. A new stiffened suspension with revised dampers able to reduce the ground clearance is available as well. Pricing is not available yet but expect much more details from the upcoming Detroit Auto Show.
