We have some good news for the U.S. buyers looking for a more potent variant of the current Fiat 500. The Italian company decided to reveal the new 500 Turbo at Concorso Italiano, an event held these days in Monterey, California.
Under the sheet metal we find a 1.4-liter MultiAir gasoline engine capable to offer 135 horsepower and 150 lb.-ft. of torque.
There are no performance figures yet but we do know that the four-cylinder unit is paired to a five-speed manual gearbox.
The new Fiat 500 Turbo also gets a high-performance braking system with ventilated discs, a retuned suspension system and a sport exhaust.
In terms of styling, there is a new front bumper, side skirts, a roof spoiler, blacked out optical blocks and larger air vents.
“The new Fiat 500 Turbo is the answer to all the fans that loved the style of our Cinquecento but wanted more power and performance for their daily drive,” adds the car maker.
Expect the new 500 Turbo to arrive in the U.S. dealerships this fall with prices starting at $19,500.
