Honda debuts the 2013 CR-Z in the United States with an improved powertrain under the bonnet. To be more specific, the Japanese company offers a new lithium-ion battery able to improve both fuel economy and performance figures.
The new output of the electric motor is now rated at 15kW while the total output of the latter combined with a 1.5-liter gasoline unit being now increased to 130 horsepower and 140 lb-ft. of torque.
Thanks to the new improvements, the 2013 Honda CR-Z offers now better fuel economy numbers, namely 37mpg combined for the CVT and 34mpg combined for the manual transmission.
At the exterior, Honda provides new Passion Berry Pearl and Polished Metal Metallic finishes, 16-inch alloy wheels, revised front grille and spoiler lip but also a redesigned rear diffuser.
The 2013 Honda CR-Z starts at $19,975 for the base model fitted with a six-speed manual transmission and goes all the way up to $23,805 for the CR-Z EX model.
