Mazda decided to release pricing and availability details for the new CX-5 Crossover in the United States. The Japanese model gets a starting price of $20,865 being powered by a 2.0-liter gasoline unit offering 155 horses and 150 lb-ft of torque. Sadly, this is the only engine available for the new CX-5 at launch but the car maker will introduce new units over time.
The 2.0-liter engine is coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox for the base Sport version while the Touring and Grand Touring models are fitted with automatic transmissions.
The entry-level model priced from $20,865 (excluding the $795 destination fee) benefits from a front-wheel drive system along with other technologies such as ABS, Brake Assist, Hill Launch Assist, Traction Control and six airbags.
“The 2013 CX-5 is a look to the future of the Mazda brand. Our achievements in Research & Development have led to breakthrough engineering with SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY,” said Jim O’Sullivan, president and CEO.
The 2013 Mazda CX-5 returns a fuel economy of 35mpg (highway) and 29mpg combined. You can get more details by taking a look at the specification sheet below.
