Mazda releases official details about the new Axela Hybrid or Mazda3 Hybrid, depending on the market. Priced from ¥2,373,000, the new model will go on sale next month in Japan.
Power is provided by a 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G engine alongside an electric motor. Traditionally, the powertrain is linked to a CVT unit and is capable to return fuel economy figures of 3,2 liters/100 km or 72,4 mpg US.
At the interior, the Japanese model will benefit from a revised instrument cluster capable to show the needed info for the hybrid powertrain.
Another change will be found in the rear, where the trunk capacity is not that great anymore. Of course, the company needed more space for the hybrid aggregate and decided to take it from the boot.
More details about the availability of the Mazda3 Hybrid in Europe will be available in the coming months.
