Mercedes unveiled today the new G-Class SUV, a model which receives aesthetic tweaks along with two high-performance AMG versions.
The entry-level model is the G350 BlueTEC which is motivated by a 3.0-liter V6 delivering 208 horses and 540 Nm of torque.
Next up is the G500 which benefits from a more powerful 5.5-liter V8 unit with 382 horsepower and 530 Nm of torque. Mercedes offers these models with a seven-speed automatic transmission.
Well, that’s not all as Mercedes adds to the range a high-performance G63 AMG model powered by a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 offering 536 horses and 760 Nm of torque, more power than the G55 AMG it replaces.
The range-topping model is the new Mercedes G65 AMG which benefits from a 6.0-liter V12 engine capable to deliver 603 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque. Unfortunately, the German car maker provided no performance figures but be sure that they are impressive.
In terms of styling, the 2013 Mercedes G-Class receives LED daytime running lights, new 20-inch wheels, revised grille and bumpers.
Safety systems such as Blind Spot Assist, Trailer Stability Assist, Parktronic and Distronic Plus are also on the options list.
