Volkswagen published the first video of the new Golf R Cabriolet, a model based on the seventh-generation Golf which was unveiled earlier this year.
While there are no official details about that powerplant is fitted under the hood, we do know that the new VW Golf R Cabriolet will be most likely powered by a 2.0-liter petrol unit offering 270 horsepower.
This engine is able to provide a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of about 6 seconds with a top speed limited at 250 km/h.
On the other hand, the new open-top Golf R comes with LED daytime running lights, a new set of alloy wheels, side skirts, a dual-pipe exhaust system and gloss black accents. Entering the cabin you will find “R” logos on the headrests, a flat-bottom steering wheel and leather seats.

The new model is inspired from the concept with the same name revealed few months ago at Wörthersee.
