Volkswagen revealed the new Santana sedan, a model which reached its second generation and is going to continue the successful story of the current model in China.
Power is provided by a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine capable to deliver 90 horsepower and a more powerful 1.6-liter with 110 horses.
There will be a total of three trim levels, namely Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. Standard features of the new Volkswagen Santana include air conditioning, front and side airbags, ABS, ESC and more.
Opt for a better-equipped version and you will get automatic climate control, leather upholstery, electric sunroof and parking sensors.
VW says that the new model is based on the Polo platform which also underpins cars such as the Skoda Rapid or Seat Toledo. They also say that the Santana is dedicated to the Chinese market being built exclusively in Shanghai.
“With nearly four million units sold, the Volkswagen Santana is one of the most successful models in China,” says the company.
