With the 2014 Paris Motor Show just beginning today, the Audi German based automaker has not wasted time and has taken its ace out of its sleeve, by presenting the one-off R8 LMX model.
The Audi R8 LMX was launched a couple of months ago on the internet and it was set to become the “world`s first production car with laser beams,” but BMW managed to overtake the R8 with the latest i8 hybrid car.
Anyway, the Audi R8 LMX is using four high power laser diodes, that lead to more efficient levels of safety, as well as visibility.
More than that, for improved visibility, the R8 LMX is also using a camera, which watches over the incoming traffic, shaping the light pattern on its way.
Apart from the high technology used for safety, the Audi R8 LMX is coming in an Ara Blue paintjob with some carbon fiber inserts, fixed rear wing gloss, black tailpipes, or the one of a kind 19-inch alloy wheels.
Under the hood, the R8 LMX is packed by a 5.2-liter unit, developing a rough 570 horsepower and 540 Nm of torque, hooked to the S Tronic seven speed gear, propelling the car to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds.
