Skoda released a full set of photos for the new Octavia RS, the sportier version of the Czech model which will be known as the vRS for the UK.
Priced from £22,990 in Britain, the new model is motivated by a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol unit producing 220 horsepower for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 6,8 seconds and a top speed of 248 km/h.
Fuel economy figures are rated at 45,6mpg UK (6,2liters/100km) and CO2 emissions of 142 g/km. On the other hand, a 2.0-liter diesel unit with 184 horses provides a 0-100 km/h sprint in 8,1 seconds but a fuel consumption of just 61,4mpg UK (4,6liters/100km) and CO2 emissions of 119 g/km.
Both units can be ordered with a standard six-speed manual transmission while a DSG dual-clutch unit is available as well. The new Octavia RS also brings a retuned suspension, new Electronic Differential Lock, ESC, larger alloy wheels and beefier tires.
Inside, expect improved materials, new trim, a sports steering wheel and other goodies.
