Toyota announced the introduction of a new 2.0-liter diesel engine for the 2014 RAV4. The new powerplant is offered on the four-wheel drive model and is capable to deliver 122 horsepower and 310Nm of torque.
Fuel economy figures were not released yet but it should be around 5 liters/100km with CO2 emissions of 136 g/km. Other improvements brought to the 2014MY RAV4 include a new Dark Brown metallic finish, 18-inch alloy wheels and chrome inserts.
Inside, buyers will get a 6-inch touch screen display, Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system and several new finishes including Beige, Black, Grey and Terracotta.
Optional equipment such as a 440 Watt JBL audio system with 9 speakers, Smart Entry and power tailgate can be ordered as well.
Toyota’s Integrated Dynamic Drive System is offered on the new 2.0-liter D-4D diesel engine as well. It offers a specific torque distribution depending on the driving conditions.
