Toyota decided to release more details on the new Yaris, a hatchback model which is specially designed “for European customers.” Under the hood, Toyota offers a base 1.0-liter 69hp unit, a 1.3-liter 99hp and a frugal 90hp 1.4-liter diesel.
Last but not least, a hybrid version combining an electric motor and a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine is available as well. It brings a total output of 100 horsepower, the most potent of the range.
At the exterior, buyers will get 15- to 16-inch alloy wheels, revised headlights with LEDs, revised bumpers and front grille.
“The B-segment is perhaps the most competitive segment in Europe. We had to do something which really stands out from the crowd,” says the company.
Inside, the 2014 Toyota Yaris gets a restyled center console, satin chrome trim and new upholstery. The Japanese carmaker also focused on comfort as the new Yaris gets a revised rear suspension, new shock absorbers and electric power steering.
