Mercedes-Benz has recently had the chance to present the all-new 2016 Mercedes-Benz SL at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show, the carmaker being showcased in a video which explains the entire technology it will come with and the new powertrain under the hood.
This is actually a facelift version of the current SL roadster which will come with slight changes in terms of visuals.
The model will receive the optional curve titling function from the S-Class Coupe, along with some new technical features, like the DYNAMIC SELECT transmission modes, the Curve (CV), Comfort (C), Sport (S), Sport Plus (S+) and Individual (I).
But the most important changes were done under the hood, as the SL 400 received a power boost of 35 horsepower and 20 Nm of torque, reaching a total of 367 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. All the power is sent to the new nine-speed automatic transmission and allows a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a good 4.9 seconds.
The same engine and powertrain will be found on the new SL500, meaning a 4.7-liter V8 with 455 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, while the SL63 AMG churns out 585 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque, all squeezed from a 5.5-liter V8. Finally, the top of the line SL 65 AMG comes with the higher 6.0-liter V12, with 630 horsepower and whopping 1,000 Nm of torque.
