We’ve promised you yesterday, when a batch of images with the Land Rover Discovery Sport hit the Web, that we will cover the official debut of the new British model and here you have it. Land Rover pulled the wraps off the new Discovery Sport, a model which starts from $37,995 in the States.
As we already told you, the new model is influenced by the current Range Rover Evoque as well as the Discovery Vision concept.
It packs revised optical blocks with LED fog lights, a redesigned C-pillar, new two-bar grille and an acoustic laminated windshield. Xenon headlights integrating LED lights will be available for the better-equipped models.
Under the hood, the European version will benefit from a 2.2-liter turbodiesel with 190 horses and a six-speed manual transmission. A nine-speed automatic one is optional in Europe but standard in the States, where the Land Rover Discovery Sport will pack a 2.0-liter petrol unit with 240hp and 250 lb-ft of torque.
Interior features include metallic trim, a multi-function steering wheel, an 8-inch display part of the infotainment system and a 60/40 split second row of seats.
The new model will be available starting next year in the United States.
