Volkswagen decided to introduce the new Touran MPV, a model that brings plenty changes compared to the outgoing version. To begin with, the German utility vehicle is now 13 cm longer while riding a longer wheelbase as well.
In conclusion, it has now a cargo capacity of 1,040 liters and is capable to accommodate up to seven passengers. The engine range is quite consistent as the new Touran rides the MQB platform which also makes it about 60 kilograms lighter.
Under the hood you will find a base 1.2-liter TSI with 110 hp as well as more powerful 1.4-liter and 1.8-liter engines with 150 hp and 180 hp. The diesel range comes with a 1.6-liter 110 hp version as well as two 2.0-liter units that develop between 150 and 190 horses.
If you are concerned about safety, VW offers several systems such as pre-crash proactive occupant protection, automatic post-collision braking assistant and the well-known adaptive cruise control. Interior features include a tweaked infotainment system hat supports both Android Auto and Apple Car Pay.
The all-new Volkswagen Touran will go on sale this summer after it debuts in world premiere at the Geneva motor Show, an event which opens its gates on March 3. Pricing details should be available soon as well.
