The BMW 3-Series is perhaps one of the most important segment from the German based carmaker, as for 40 years, the entire fleet has been a true example of technological achievement and impressive performance. And to make things complete for this year`s 40th anniversary, the 2016 BMW 3-Series has come along with significant changes.
The first thing that BMW decided to offer, is the 440i version which will be the successor of the 335i, coming with less features concerning body style, but with more power than its predecessor. Next, BMW will also launch in a premiere, the first plug-in version of the 3-Series, in the shape of the 330e version, which will be launched somewhere in 2016.
The 2016 BMW 3-Series 330e plug-in hybrid will come with a conventional four-cylinder unit, the same that will be fitted on the entire 3-Series lineup, and which will produce 250 horsepower and a good 420 Nm of torque. It will take thus just 6.1 seconds to run from 0 to 100 km/h.. Additionally, an electric motor with direct transmission will back the conventional engine. The 330e will come with a 22 range mile and will be extremely efficient in terms of fuel consumption.
Apart from the 440i and the plug-in hybrid 330e, the new 3-Series will also lineup the 320i, the 328i as well as the 328d, all of them being fitted with the newly arrived N55 mil! Prices have not been confirmed for the moment.
