The North American based Chevrolet has recently introduced some body makeovers for its hotter version 2016 SS sedan, the model now looking refreshed and more aggressive in terms of styling. No new power upgrades were announced under the hood.
Todd Christensen, the CEO at Chevrolet Performance Car has stated in an interview that “The 2016 SS design changes more fully express the true driving character of the sedan while further enhancing the car’s overall performance.”
The 2016 Chevrolet SS is now wearing a new front fascia with updated vertical air ducts to the outer edges, which improve the car`s aerodynamic efficiency by directing the air flow over the front wheels. Apart the vertical ducts, the fascia is also equipped with the new LED lighting.
The new body design is complemented by the one-off set of 19-inch cast-aluminum alloy wheels, which provides the model with a fresh look and greater stance. More than that, the carmaker has also fitted the all-new 2016 Chevrolet SS with the customized dual-mode exhaust system.
Under the hood, the 2016 Chevrolet is using the same 6.2-liter V8 engine, developing 415 horsepower and 563 Nm of torque, enough to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, with the help of a six-speed manual or standard paddle-shift six-speed automatic transmission.
