Ford has recently released a hardcore version of its F-150 which will join the police forces in their fight against crime on the US roads and not only. It is called the F-150 Special Service Vehicle and comes with additional features suitable for a real police vehicle.

Besides the ballistic protection and the new “visor light bar”, the 2016 Ford F-150 Special Service Vehicle comes with some serious changes inside, with the carpeting being replaced with the easy-to-clean vinyl flooring, while the rear seat has been also swapped for a vinyl bench.

More than that, the standard 40/20/40 seats have been changed with 40/blank/40 seats, the rear section now coming with more space.

While still at it, Stephen Tyler, Ford Police Marketing Manager, stated that “Many officers need the extra space F-150 Special Service Vehicle offers. They can load the cargo box with equipment and still fit five people inside. Its utility is unmatched.”

The Ford F-150 Special Service Vehicle will be available with the SuperCrew and SuperCab configurations in the XL trim, packing a 3.5-liter EcoBoost or a 5.0-liter V8 engine under the hood. The drive configuration also involves a 2WD or a 4WD.

The 2016 Ford F-150 Special Service Vehicle will join other vehicles within the Police Department, like the Expedition Special Service Vehicle, Special Service Police Sedan, Transit Prisoner Vehicle, Police Interceptor Sedan or Police Interceptor Utility.
