Hyundai pulled the wraps off the 2016 Sonata Hybrid, the refreshed version of the hybrid South Korean model.
On the outside, buyers will get revised bumpers, a tweaked front grille and other minor improvements. Power is offered by a 2.0-liter GDI engine offering 154 horses and 190 Nm of torque while a six-speed automatic transmission with a 51hp electric motor completes the setup.
Thus, we talk about a total output of 193 horses while combined fuel economy figures are rated at 42 mpg US.
At the interior, the new Hyundai Sonata Hybrid has an improved cargo capacity of 376 liters thanks to the car battery which has been relocated. A new instrument cluster is also present inside but that are basically all the modifications.
“The 2016 Sonata Hybrid fuel economy is expected to improve more than 10 percent,” says Hyundai. The new model will go on sale this summer with pricing details to be available soon.
