The 2016 Mercedes-AMG SLC has been recently unveiled, the carmaker also revealing the insights of the top of the line SLC 43 version, which comes with impressive technological goodies and high-performance engine under the hood.
In terms of styling, the 2016 Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 comes with sporty features, like redesigned headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights and LED taillights, or the retractable roof which opens and closes at speeds up to 40 km/h.
Other features include the updated front and rear aprons, wheel arch covers, diamond-like radiator grille in chrome with high-gloss black, AMG exhaust system, all complemented by the 18-inch AMG multi-spoke lightweight alloy wheels, in the same high-gloss finish.
The cabin is also looking fresh, with nappa leather and red contrast stitching on the multi-function sports steering, black nappa leather on the sports seats and the rest of the interior. The cabin also received the updated COMAND infotainment system with a seven-inch high-resolution display.
The 2016 Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 comes with a 3.0-liter V6 bi-turbo unit, hooked to a 9G-TRONIC gearbox, enough to develop 367 horsepower and 520 Nm of torque. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is done in 4.7 seconds, at a topping of an electronically limited 250 km/h.
In the US, the 2016 Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 will be also powered by the entry SLC300 2.0-liter turbocharged flat-four, with 241 horsepower and 369 Nm of torque, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.
Other important driving characteristics refer to the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT system, coming with three driving modes, like Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Eco, which individually adjust the transmission, engine, suspension or steering, in different road conditions.
In Europe, the 2016 Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 will start sales in late January, while in the United States, the model will reach dealerships in spring. The full prices will be announced prior to their debut.
