2016 Porsche 911 Carrera Facelift Gains New Twin-Turbo Engine, Video Released

View

The new Porsche 911 Carrera was recently unveiled and will reach German dealerships in December, at a base price of 96,605 euros. We are dealing here with a facelift version of the current model, that has now received a new twin-turbo engine and a few makeovers at the exterior as well as inside.

The 2016 Porsche 911 is now refreshed under the hood, thanks to the 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder unit, with 370 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque in the base Carrera, while the Carrera S goes higher with 420 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque.

The performance figures are also impressive. The entry level Carrera reaches 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, while the Carrera S needs less, 3.9 seconds, both versions being hooked to a PDK transmission. The good figures are also given by the Porsche Active Suspension Management chassis, active rear-axle steering configuration, or the updated shock absorbers. But despite the performance, the models are more fuel efficient, with just 7.7 liters for every 100 km/h.

In terms of styling, the 2016 Porsche 911 Carrera has received updated headlights with daytime running lights, new taillights with four-point brake lights and wheels and a few more.

Moving inside, the cabin is now accessorized with the new Porsche Communication Management System with 7-inch display, Google Earch and Google Streetview systems, smartphone tray in the center armrest and much more. The model is also detailed in the video below. Enjoy and don`t forget that your opinion does count!
