2016 SEMA Show: 2017 Chevrolet Trax Active

View

I have already lost count of the plethora of models and concepts that Chevrolet carmaker has brought to the 2016 SEMA Show, some of them just to be shown off, others to reach dealerships starting next year.

Another one-off- concept that will likely to spawn a future subcompact crossover is the newly addition to the lineup – the all-new 2017 Chevrolet Trax Active – the model getting its fair share of attention from the media and the public.

Prior to SEMA Show, the North American based carmaker designed the Active Concept based on the 2017 Trax, the model coming with an all-wheel-drive layout and other interesting goodies.

We are looking here at a visibly modified SUV with off-road characteristics, meaning that it comes with modified chassis. The Active concept has received the 18-inch alloy wheels in off-road tires and new suspension system that offers a smooth climbing or descending.

Besides the new mechanics, the model also gets exceptional design features, starting with the Satin Sandstorm body wrap and adding new roof-mounted LED light bar, black fender flares and rockers, tinted headlights and taillights, red tow hooks and a few more.

The interior is also standout, the cabin featuring a colour that complemented the exterior, meaning Jet Black hue and Satin Graphite accents.

The all-new 2017 Chevrolet Trax Active hasn’t received any changes under the hood, the concept being equipped with the same 1.4-liter turbo flat-four engine found on the 2017 Trax, developing 138 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. The engine is hooked to a six-speed automatic transmission that sends the power to the front wheels. An all-wheel drive is also offered as optional.
