Ford has recently installed a new and revolutionary system on the 2017 Ford Escape that allows the driver to carry out and perform a plethora of functions directly from his smartphone via the car`s infotainment system.

It is all about the FordPass system with SYNC Connect, becoming available next month on all 2017 Ford Estate models. The feature allows the drive to perform different tasks like remotely lock or unlock the car, check fuel consumption and level and more.

It is an extremely safe feature, with just two-step verification procedure, “providing the convenience customers want,” as Don Butler, executive director at Ford Connected Vehicle and Services, commented in an interview.

He also added: “It was designed with the customer as the focus – everything the technology does is intended to improve the vehicle-owning experience.”

Speaking about safety, the FordPass system will make use of a secured smartphone application which allows the usage of all functions in the safest possible way. The smartphone application is compatible with both CarPlay and Android Auto.

Besides the 2017 Ford Escape, there are also future models to benefit the FordPass application and Ford announced that the upcoming Fusion would also pack the aforementioned system. Later on, the entire Ford range will get it, like the new Fiesta, Escape SE as well as the Escape Titanium.
