The main highlight of the 2018 Lexus LS 500h remains the powertrain under the hood. It involves a 3.5-liter naturally-aspirated V6 petrol with two electric motors, paired to a high-performance ten-speed automatic transmission, which enables better power propulsion and increased driving comfort.
The car`s transmission also comes with the so called “Driver`s Mind Index,” which adjusts the gear shifts according to the driver`s needs.
The model reaches 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds, thanks to its overall power of 264 kW. It also has the ability of reaching 100 km/h on electric power alone, after that the electric system switches off and allowing the petrol burner to take control. The whole plug-in hybrid system is put to motion thanks to a lighter lithium ion-battery pack.
