The Shelby division has been customizing Ford models for more than fifty years now and whenever I get to see the GTE badge on the car`s body, I immediately recognize that it has been fine-tuned by Shelby.
Recently, Shelby introduced its newest 2017 GTE version at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the entire ceremony being showcased in the video below. The model will be unveiled in the US and Canada and will have a starting price of $17,999.
From a visual standpoint, the 2017 Shelby GTE comes with improved aero parts made from carbon fiber, which make it more lightweight and improve its handling and driving dynamics.
Amongst the most important aero parts we should mention the Shelby vented hood, rear spoiler or carbon fiber front splitter, along of course, with a plethora of Shelby logos on the car`s body and interior.
Shelby is also offering, for extra cash, other fine-tuned carbon fiber parts or a wide range of mechanical goodies, like custom braking and suspension systems. The entire Shelby kit comes handy with the 19-inch Ford Performance alloy wheels.
But perhaps the car`s main highlight is found under the hood, the 2017 Shelby GTE coming with a massive 5.0-liter V8 engine, with a good 465 horsepower. In case you want something less powerful, then you can also choose the EcoBoost variant, with 335 horsepower.
