Skoda has been very busy lately planning, testing out and facelifting a wide range of models, including the future introduction of the Kodiaq Coupe SUV in China or the introduction of the all-new Octavia facelift with new styling and tech goodies.
The 2017 Skoda Octavia is an exceptional model, the carmaker adding a lot of high-end features which will separate it from the rest of the lineup. We are looking here at improved styling tweaks, like new full-LED technology, updated front grille and bumpers, as well as a range of 16-, 17- and 18-inch.
The 2017 Octavia facelift also comes with some important updates in the cabin, like 9.2-inch high-resolution display, SIM card module and WLAN hotspot, adding a wide array of safety features.
We are looking here at the most important ones, including Predictive Pedestrian Protection on the Front Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Traffic Alert, Parking Assistant, rearview camera and rear radar.
In the engine department, the car manufacturer has not announced any changes, the new Octavia packing the same engines, meaning five petrol burners and four diesels. We should mention the petrol 1.0-liter with 84 horsepower, or the 2.0-liter engine with 184 horsepower, both hooked to a six-speed and a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.
On the diesels side, there are also the 1.8-liter TSI and the 2.0-liter TDI worth mentioning, sending the power to all wheels. All versions will also come with improved steering and driving capabilities, thanks to the Dynamic Chassis Control, adding as well three driving modes – Comfort, Normal and Sport – and other fine mechanics.
