It may be much punchier than the 2017 Skoda Octavia facelift unveiled a couple of months ago, but according to critics worldwide, it still comes with the same old and boring design. This is how the RS facelift would be described, just arriving before early 2017.
Comparing the two models, one might see the resemblance in styling, as the Skoda RS facelift brings much just a handful of styling updates, while the performance remains its strongest point.
We should be able to recognize the same split headlight design with adaptive full-LED lighting. However, the front fascia is slightly revised, bringing a fresh sporty feel. At the rear end, the model comes with just that much update concerning the taillights, while the LED tech remains standard. As a plus, we could notice the red reflector lamp just found above the glossy black diffuser, which also houses the dual exhaust tips.
In the cabin, the interior is likely to look just like its standard Octavia facelift, meaning a plethora of high-tech gizmos and infotainment systems with capacitive-touch displays, and much more. The details with the interior are kept hidden at the moment.
The car`s main highlight remains the engine lineup. In the petrol department, we are looking here at a fresh 230 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, all squeezed from a 2.0-liter TSI mill, soon to be joined by a much higher configuration – around 245 horsepower in mid-2017. The first one allows a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a good 6.7 seconds, at a top speed which is electronically set at 250 km/h.
As far as the diesels concern, the 2017 Skoda Octavia RS facelift keeps the 2.0-liter TDI, but adds more power, 184 horsepower, allowing as well a 100 km/h sprint in 7.9 seconds.
