Following the official unveiling of the all-new 2017 Swift, Suzuki carmaker is already preparing a much more aggressive variant in the shape of the Swift Sport, recently caught on first spy shots while undergoing some road tests, fully camouflaged as well.
Judging by the spy photos, the camouflage indicates the presence of a new and much more aggressive design, and that despite the fact that it wears the general design lines of the standard 2017 Swift.
We should expect a sporty hatch with eye-catching styling cues, with angular front bumper, brand-new headlights and taillights, deeper front air dam, more prominent side skirts and rear diffuser, twin exhaust pipes, as well as improved materials inside with sports trims.
The car`s main highlights, yet a secret for the moment, is the powertrain under the hood. According to recent reports, the lineup might start with a 1.0-liter turbo engine, shortly followed by a hybrid variant. Also, the model is rumored to be equipped with a 1.4-liter BoosterJet turbo flat-four engine, which is rather the same one found underneath the new Vitara S Turbo of the S-Cross SX4 turbo.
In the latter one, the engine churns out 103 kW and 220 Nm of torque, which means that in the Swift Sport, the mill would pack much higher power and torque.
This would be quite a significant improvement, considering that the present Suzuki Swift Sport comes with a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine, with 100 kW and 160 Nm of torque. We should be able to find out full details with the car`s powertrain un the upcoming period.
