Views

The hot and more powerful 2018 RS variant of the Megane is getting ready for its final unveiling at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, taking place in a couple of weeks, but until then it is still running some latest tests to make sure that everything is in right place.

The model was caught on what seems to be final tests, with the spy photos below revealing the test mule wearing less camouflage. This was a perfect opportunity for spy photographers to take a closer look at the body styling.

Once arriving on the market at the end of the year, the 2018 Renault Megane RS is going to be extremely aggressive, coming with more prominent and sportier body styling bits. We are looking here at revised front and rear bumpers, wider fenders and new alloy wheels.

The new RS will stand on the company`s new platform, also underpinning its standard Megane sibling, meaning that we should see the same front wheel-drive system. The space inside has also been increased, adding as well the latest technological gadgetries.

In the engine department, Renault has equipped the new 2018 Megane RS with a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol burner with 300 horsepower, hooked to a standard six-speed manual transmission and optional dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Once it will arrive on the market it will compete against the likes of Ford Focus RS and Volkswagen Golf R. Full details will be revealed in Geneva at the beginning of March, meanwhile, enjoy the spy photos with the model undergoing final tests out in the snow!
