The Mazda MX5-GT is a lighter, faster, track-oriented Miata for those of you who just can’t get enough fun in this popular roadster.

If I step off the patronizing plate for a few minutes I’m going to acknowledge that this version of the Mazda MX-5 is a lot more serios than most of us would like to imagine.
What we see here is the result of Jota Sport and their team spending 400 man hours spent on a Japanese roadster and thus producing a full fledged racer.
Destined to participate in the Britcar MSA British Endurance Championship 2011, the Mazda MX5-GT has a relatively impressive spec sheet.

The same 2 liter engine now produces 275 horsepower from the same four cylinder engine as the production version of the Japanese roadster.
Apart from the shiny new power, the Mazda MX5-GT gets a wide variety of weight stripping and racing safety upgrades that are going to make racing happen.
As a result of these updates the Mazda MX5-GT is going to get from 0 to 62 in some 3 seconds and the acceleration keeps on coming until the top speed is 160 mph.

For some reason though, lots of people consider that the most important part of car is the new Green paint it has.
