A Unique Rolls-Royce Phantom Honors the Dragon Year

A Unique Rolls Royce Phantom Honors the Dragon Year (4)

The Rolls-Royce Phantom has been the symbol of luxury and class for many years already. It is often cited as the best of all luxury cars, it is the automotive analog of a private jet or a superyacht. But if you don’t want to be caught in any standard Phantom and require your car to be twice as extraordinary, at the very least, Rolls-Royce will create one for you if you have the cash. That, however, is what Rolls-Royce did with the one-off Phantom Dragon model.

Concealed behind the scenes and invisible from the exterior of the Phantom Dragon are elements that set it apart from any other Phantom produced and painted to the client’s desire in China, in honor of the Year of the Dragon in 2024. Chinese people are fond of the dragon, and they actually have a special day for someone who is born on the fifth day of the Chinese New Year. This very creation symbolizes and is imbued with meaning and importance for the owner, their family, and the Chinese culture.

The Phantom Dragon’s Exterior

Phantom Dragon is discreetly stylish and comes in Iced Diamond Black, which is understated yet glamorous. The car is simple and unassuming on the outside, with a plain dark finish that is the exact opposite of what is to be found behind these doors—the fact that it is a Phantom makes this the ideal example of what sets the cars apart on the inside.

Interior Design & Customization

As we go inside the Phantom Dragon, despite the Emperor being the owner, we are welcomed by a beautiful sight of luxury. Luxurious Ardent Red accents the front seats, dashboard, steering wheel, and door panels. This deep, warm shade brings a certain formality into the interior while giving a warm and homelike feeling at the same time. The script, which identifies the owner’s family name, is lavished on the headrests in traditional Chinese cursive script, and helps to give this Rolls-Royce Phantom the character all its own.

The entire layout of the car can be viewed via the easy to use controls of the dashboard which Rolls-Royce dubs ‘The Gallery.’ The dashboard is made of four forms of wood, painting two dragons inside clouds using 297 parts. This process of intricately and skillfully carving such a design must take a considerable amount of time and effort and indeed symbolizes the effort that is put into any Rolls-Royce model.

The headliner with stars called the Starlight is also a customization by the buyer of the Phantom Dragon. The representation of this stunning element is the abstract design of two dragons: the red one and the white one as well as the 24 shooting stars. This exquisite design is done in a sky pattern wherein the interior, especially the driver’s seat, is very calming.

Personal Opinion: Just like any other Rolls Royce, the exterior of this Phantom may not be particularly conspicuous, but its interior is where this car really stands out. The absence of any line between luxury, class, and cultural connotation renders the Phantom Dragon not only a car but an art piece.

The Bespoke Design Process

‘The brief for this project was to convey China’s most sacred emblems and the client’s symbolism markers effectively and with due reverence but also to inject the faintest whisper of Rolls-Royce design philosophy,’ lead bespoke designer for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Shuai Feng added. ‘This is what our artisans have done in this luxury car, through different mediums and the cultural history of the region, the client, and the Rolls-Royce brand.

The development of the Phantom Dragon model is evidence of the high levels of artistic skill of the company’s designers and artisans, who take much pride in their work of creating an automobile according to the preferences of their customers and his or their sense of fashion, and culture. Building a one-off car like this is a very meticulous and methodical process that is not a flippant decision at Rolls-Royce.

Personal Opinion: How much time, effort, and how much the client’s requirements are respected and implemented by specialized craftsmen hardly anyone can argue with. The end result is that we have a unique luxury car, for it is a creation that has taken consideration of design aesthetics and prowess in equal measures.

The Price of Bespoke Luxury

It is still unclear just how much more the one-off Phantom Dragon cost, although one can safely bet that it had to set its owner back a fair bit more than a run-of-the-mill Phantom. Without a shadow of a doubt, for a man who wants to have a unique luxury car, this vision of Rolls-Royce is unquestionably worth the investment in every sense and social aspect.

Conclusion

The specifically designed Phantom Dragon by Rolls-Royce is an excellent example of creating an exquisite car piece that combines both elegance and cultural aspects. The coloration, interior design, and custom work offered in this car are a perfect symbol of the Year of the Dragon in a way that no other car could ever be. As the author pointed out from this fabulous work, when Rolls-Royce builds a bespoke car, there is no restriction on whatever can be designed, manufactured, and pioneered. The Phantom Dragon is a clear indication of how Rolls-Royce has been maintaining and improving on the standard of luxury.
