The Los Angeles Auto Show proved to be the right time for Alfa Romeo to unveil the new Giulia, a model that wants to shake the segment in the United States.
The Italian car stands out thanks to a new 2.9-liter six-cylinder engine producing 505 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque which equips the range-topping Quadrifoglio version. The 0-100 km/h sprint is possible in just 3,8 seconds with a top speed of 307 km/h.
All this power is handled by a six-speed manual transmission while the 50:50 weight distribution also helps out with the performance.
If you want a less powerful and a cheaper option, the base Alfa Romeo Giulia comes with a 2.0-liter MultiAir2 gasoline unit producing 276 horsepower. In terms of styling, we can see the larger front optical blocks, a big front grille with chrome inserts, carbon fiber spoiler lip and a rear diffuser.
The 19-inch alloy wheels fitted with 245/35ZR19 (front) and 285/30ZR19 (rear) Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires are also good looking but they are available only on the top-of-the-range Quadrifoglio variant. The Alfa Romeo Giulia is expected to be available next year in the States with precise pricing details coming sometime soon.
