Porsche pulls the wraps off the new 911 GT3 R, a high-performance racing model which has its origins in the 997.
At the exterior, you will find new front and rear bumpers, wider fender flares, racing wheels with special high performance tires, a new traction control system and a massive rear wing providing improved downforce.
Power is offered by the same 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine capable to produce 500 horsepower. The six-speed transmission is a sequential gearbox which can be operated from the shift paddles on the steering wheel.
“Ever since its launch in 2010, customer teams around the world have gone from success to success with the 911 GT3 R,” says the German company.
Therefore, the new Porsche 911 GT3 R brings few aerodynamic improvements with no significant performance tweaks. The carmaker says that the new model is offered as a conversion kit with prices starting at €45,500.
