Toyota released photos and details on the new 4Runner, an SUV which debuted at the Stagecoach Music Festival in California.
Available in both 4×2 and 4×4 variants, the new 4Runner is powered by a 4.0-liter V6 producing 270 horsepower and 376Nm of torque. When linked to a five-speed automatic transmission, it returns fuel economy figures of 17mpg (city) and 23mpg (highway).
Of course, the main selling points of the Japanese off-roader are its dimensions, towing capacity of 5,000 pounds, special wiring harness and a third row of seats for certain versions.
There will be three trim levels, starting with the base SR5 and continuing with Limited and Trail. The range-topping model comes with leather seats, revised dashboard, ventilated front seats, improved materials, trim and equipment.
“Currently in its fifth-generation, 4Runner continues as one of the few fully capable mid-size SUVs,” says the company. Pricing and availability details for the new Toyota 4Runner will be released soon.
