AMG Is Most Likely to Power-up future Mercedes-Benz SL

View

A lot of Mercedes-Benz future models are beginning to be produced with hardcore characteristics from the company`s AMG special division, and that because they are offered with more exclusive design and improved performance under the hood.

Reports also state that one-off model to receive AMG goodies will be the future Mercedes-Benz SL, the model being aimed for the United Kingdom market.

The latest report to sort of “confirm” the good news comes from Autocar, which states the AMG division would be responsible for the making of the future SL. More than that, there were also sources from inside, stating that the model “will be a vastly different proposition to today`s model”.

Even if the Mercedes-Benz`s latest architecture is one of the most advanced ever built, that from AMG will prove even higher-performance, the report stating the use of the MSA (modularen sportwagen architektur) on the new Mercedes-Benz SL.

The platform is already underpinning the W205 C-Class, and comes with a MRA setup which will support different types of wheelbases, making it easy to modify the future models. We are dealing here with a platform consisting of carbon fiber reinforced plastic and aluminum, meaning that the model will shed-off significant weight, which will result in increase driving capabilities and much more power.

Speaking about power, the new Mercedes-Benz SL is likely to come with the new 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine, while the more potent 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo will also equip the future SL500 and SL63 versions. The top of the line SL65 will use a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12.
