Mitsubishi manufacturer is clearly on a strict diet concerning its future model range, deciding to reduce its car to just a bunch, especially in Europe. This means that the gorgeous and iconic Lancer will not leave to see another day.
However, in Asia – particularly in China and other local markets – the carmaker decided to still offer the model with some new improvements for the 2018MY.
The company`s plans were also given away by the first leaked images released online by Key Auto magazine from Malaysia. The photos were taken from a promo footage in Macau and provide us a closer look on how the Asian model will be looking like once revealed on the market in April.
The new Mitsubishi Lancer is likely to share the usual design lines from its previous generation, coming as well with new styling bits.
According to the photos, the new Lancer will come with chrome add-ons for the front bumper, silver and black wheels, new headlights and taillights, all part of the new Dynamic Shield package.
Inside, the cabin of the new Mitsubishi Lancer will welcome you with new technology, including a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster, optional 8-inch touchscreen entertainment system, adding as well as suite of safety features – emergency brake warning, steep slope start assistance, accident warning system, lane departure and so on.
Under the hood, the new Lancer will get a 1.8-liter MIVEC flat-four engine with 139 horsepower and 172 Nm of torque, available at 4,200 rpm. The engine will send the power to the wheels via a new CVT gearbox.
