Aston Martin may be the name to rock the auto industry in the following years. As it continues to be the only maker of exotic cars independent from any auto concern, it starts partnerships that boost its business without inflicting the sharehold.
First, we talked about the partnership between Aston Martin and Ford, designed to let the British company continue to use V8 and V12 Ford’s engines. These days, we are talking about a new partnership, with the Germans from Daimler.
Starting from now, Daimler has 5% of Aston Martin’s share, without voting right to Gaydon, and it also took the responsibility of developing new V8 engines divided by components.
The alliance comes like a glove with Aston Martin producing highly attractive units that lacked however engine performances. And Daimler is not only going to support the engines, but also electronic components such as navigation systems, multimedia interfaces and perhaps even safety systems.
The entire above should provide Aston Martin with everything it takes for fairly competing with models such as Rolls-Royce or Volkswagen Bentley so we are all anxiously waiting to see where this new alliance will take the British company.
