The Germans from Audi decided to upgrade the engine range of the current A6 and A7 models in the UK with a new V6 diesel unit. The 3.0-liter bi-turbocharged engine is able to deliver 313 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque from 1,450 to 2,800rpm.
The unit in question already equips the Audi A6 Sedan, Avant, Allroad Quattro and also A7 Sportback in the local market as Germany received this new engine ahead of any other markets.
Audi says that the Audi A6 sedan fitted with this engine is able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5,1 seconds hitting a top speed of 250 km/h.
“The new twin-turbo V6 is notable not only for being the most powerful six-cylinder diesel engine ever offered by the Vorsprung durch Technik brand, but also the sweetest-sounding,” adds Audi.
The new 3.0-liter V6 engine is coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission and returns a combined fuel economy of 44,1mpg UK (6,4 liters/100 km).
In terms of pricing, the Audi A6 sedan powered by the new V6 diesel is priced from £43,810 in the United Kingdom.
