The Germans from Audi released the official photos and details on the new RS4 Avant, a model leaked few days ago. Under the bonnet sits a 4.2-liter V8 engine able to deliver 444 horsepower at 8,250 rpm and 430 Nm of torque from 4,000 rpm. The naturally aspirated eight-cylinder engine is borrowed from the RS5 and offers additional 30 horses over the previous model.
“Hand-built at Audi’s plant in Györ, Hungary, the 4.2 FSI engine combines its impressive power with exemplary efficiency, consuming on average less than 11 liters of fuel per 100 km (21.38 U.S. mpg),” says the company.
The new RS4 Avant is offered with a seven-speed S tronic automatic transmission but also with the well-known quattro all-wheel drive system. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is possible in 4,7 seconds while the top speed is electronically limited at 250 km/h.
The exterior features a new set of 19-inch forged aluminum wheels with 265/35 tires, new front and rear bumpers, side skirts, a new front grille and more.
The new Audi RS4 Avant is expected to hit the European showrooms this fall with a starting price of €76,600 in Germany.
