Consider the all-new Audi RS4 Avant or RS5 Coupe the best models in the segment? Well perhaps they are, but they are not as fast as the Carbon Edition siblings, which have been recently announced with prices in the United Kingdom.
In case you have already ordered one of the standard model above, then you might reconsider and buy the Carbon edition for some additional money. This means £71,625 for the RS4 Avant Carbon (£10,000 more over the standard RS4 Avant) and £75,400 for the RS5 Coupe, which is also £15,000 more over the current RS5 Coupe.
Is it worth the price?
Definitely yes, considering that they are now coming with carbon fiber components, that shed off around 80 kg and 60 kg, respectivelt, meaning increased performance and less fuel-consumption.
What does exactly the Carbon Edition package consist of?
Both models are now coming with CFRP components – new front spoiler, door mirror housings, sill extensions, diffuser insert, rear spoiler and exposed roof (the last two components are exclusively reserved for the much hotter RS5 Coupe).
The entire Carbon package is also coming with 20-inch alloy wheels, which shed off another 8 kg. Overall, we are looking here at a total of 80 kg for the RS4 Avant and 60 kg for the RS5 Coupe, over the standard models.
Other significant new changes that the Carbon edition brings forward refer to RS Matrix LED headlamps, Quattro Sport Differential, matt aluminum finish for the radiator grille, window surrounds, privacy glass, Nappa leather sports seats in black with contrast red stitching, and much more.
In the engine department, both the Audi RS4 Avant and RS5 Coupe are equipped with the same 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, the same as the standard models, and a top speed of 155 mph. However, with the speed limited removed, the topping car reach 174 mph. As for the 0 to 100 km/h, the RS4 Avant manages that in 4.1 seconds, while the RS5 Coupe is faster with 0.2 seconds.
