Audi TT RS arrives in the U.S. this summer with a MSRP of $56,850

Here we have some big news for the U.S. customers waiting for the Audi TT RS to reach the States. Audi officially announced that the sports coupe will hit the showrooms this summer at a starting price of $56,850 excluding any charges such as taxes and destination fee. This probably means that the price will exceed the $60,000 barrier but you can find the exact pricing at the dealerships within the new weeks.

According to the official details released by the German company, the U.S.-spec Audi TT RS develops 360 horsepower and 465 Nm of torque from the same 2.5-liter TFSI turbocharged unit. This means that you get extra 20 horsepower and 15 Nm of torque comparing to the model that is sold in Europe. Fuel consumption figures are not available yet but expect around the same numbers as the European model.

The five-cylinder unit is mated to a six-speed manual transmission which transmits the power through the quattro system, therefore, to all the four wheels. The 2012 Audi TT RS does the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4,1 seconds and hits a top speed of 280 km/h. A high performance braking system is available as well with front (370 mm) and rear (310 mm) ventilated disc brakes and hydraulic brake assistant. The structure of Audi TT RS is a mixed construction using aluminum and steel, better known as Hybrid ASF.

Besides the decent power offering worth of the RS badge, the customers will also benefit from some noteworthy aesthetic features such as the 19-inch alloy wheels, large front air inlets and a rear wing while inside the model offers heated sport seats, LED ambient lighting, RS-badged aluminum door sills and a sport steering wheel.
