We’re now in the same month as the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. At this point it’s obvious that it’s bearing down on us so the number of previews from it is bound to increase.
The latest in that line of offerings is Audi’s new A2. What sets the new Audi A2 apart from the original one is that this one is an electric vehicle.
Styling wise it doesn’t seem to bear any resemblance to the original miniature Audi but there is one key similarity, the intention to save the world.
Whereas the Audi A2 was one of the most fuel efficient vehicles of its time, the new concept aims to use even less energy in the form if electricity.
The Germans also gave us some details alongside the drawings of the new Audi A2 EV Concept but I wouldn’t call them very relevant.
That’s because they’re not much more than the dimensions of the new car, none of which seem to be interesting; they are normal figures instead of crazy stuff like on Peugeot’s latest concept.
A new Audi A2 EV Concept measures in at 12.47 feet long, 5.54 feet wide and 4.89 ft tall and given the proportions we see on the drawings it seems to be shaping up like a new and better looking A2.
That’s very nice, but until Audi hit us with the final details and tell us what the new EV can manage, I’m not really bothered by a new A2.
