Australia: 2016 Infiniti Q50 Launched, Packs Powerful Twin-Turbo Mill

Infiniti has had a rather hard time in Australia for the past few years, the luxury brand from Toyota trying to boost its sales by launching the all-new 2016 Q50 sports sedan, the model also featuring a new engine.

The 2016 Infiniti Q50 comes with a wide range of engines carried over from the previous generation and adding as well a more powerful version, in the shape of the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 mill, with two power configurations: 224 kW and 400 Nm of torque, respectively 298 kW and 475 Nm of torque.

This will make it more potent that its rivals` Jaguar XE S with 250 kW and BMW 3-Sereis 340 i with 240 kW.

The engine lineup continues with other two powertrains, like the 2,0-liter turbo four-cylinder with 155 kW, 2.2-liter turbo-diesel with 125 kW, followed by the 3.5-liter V6 hybrid engine, with 268 kW. All versions feature an automatic transmission.

Apart the powerful powertrains under the hood, the 2016 Infiniti Q50 also brings other additional changes, like the new Direct Adaptive Steering system, Dynamic Digital Suspension and a few more.

In Australia, Toyota`s luxury brand Infiniti, is placed 11th place amongst the best carmakers concerning sales, standing way behind BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Jaguar and other important brands.
