The Supermarine Spitfire was perhaps the most iconic aircraft used in World War 2 against the German army. There were 20,000 units ever produced starting with 1936, each model coming with a Merlin engine produced by Rolls-Royce.
The same Supermine Spitfire name pops-up on one of Aston Martin`s Vantage special model, called the V12 Vantage S Spitfire 80, the model commemorating 80 years from its first flight. It looks absolutely marvelous with the plethora of exquisite features and luxiorus design.
The exterior is highlighted by the exquisite Duxford green body wrap, the same one found on the Spitfire plane, adding a yellow pinstripe, as well as the Spitfire-like rainbow ”bloom” pipes, which replace the stock exhayust system tips.
Inside, the cabin welcomes you with al aluminum bar, which reminds you of the pilot`s original rear strut brace, adding the headrests with the Spitfire emblems, red door handles and other interior elements reminiscent of the Irvin flying jacket.
In case you interested about the car`s price, each model comes with AUD $315,000, the equivalent of $70,000 in the United States. The owner of each model sold will receive an 80 Irvin jacket with goggles and flying helmet, while the funds will be donated th the RAF Benevolent Fund, which deals with financial help for former RAF veterans.
