The Australian market is not one of the more lucrative areas for the industry like the USA or Asia, so every manufacturer that wants to stay in the land down under, has to come up with a good strategy.
The strategy for Ducati, it seems, involves offering great bikes at discount prices.
This is how Australia got the Ducati Monster 659 ABS at a price of 12.990 AUD, a full thousand dollars off the initial price. The Monster 659 ABS is a learner bike, and it is being made especially for the Australian and Asian markets.
Besides the great new price, Ducati also offers for the Monster a 2 year warranty with unlimited kilometers and even a 24 hour Rider’s Assist. Such campaigns brought the Ducati Monster 659 ABS second place as the best selling bike last year, with it placing third for 2013.
This is not bad for a relatively young bike, seeing production in June 2011. With such great offers, it’s no wonder 750 units of this bike flew out the dealers’ doors.
