There was a special event taking place in the big happy family BMW, as the famous 8-Series has just turned 25, a unique occasion for the automaker to throw in a special birthday party.
Thus, the BMW Club International Office has organized, alongside the 8-Series` s club 8er.org and the ClubE31 Worldwide Group e.V, an event, gathering together around 260 happy owners of the 8-Series, some of them coming with their own special vehicles.
The event of the 25th anniversary took place back home, at the carmaker`s plant in Munich, Germany, an event which has also given participants the chance to share experiences and to hope for a future gen 8-Series.
To be a reminder, the 8-Series has marked the beginning of a new era of modern BMW vehicles, back in 1989 when the sportscar was first unveiled during the Frankfurt Motor Show.
At that time, the 8-Series was seen more as a futuristic vehicle, with special tweaks at the body, like the side windows which would lower or raise when the doors would open or close, the electrically adjustable steering column and so on.
Technology was also BMW`s main concern, as the 8-Series was also revolutionary with the Automatic Stability Control and Traction, the EDC system and much more.
