In case you had any doubts about the performance of the most impressive hypercar from BMW, the i8, than you should know that the impressive plug-in hybrid managed to lap the Hockenheim track in just 1:15 minutes.
The Hockenheim tack is one of the most difficult tracks in the world, with a lot of sports car facing tight corners, but it wasn’t the case for the BMW i8, which managed to set a personal record.
The 1:15 minute lap is significantly important for the BMW i8 plug-in hybrid, as it surpassed even the one-off Jaguar F-Type, which ran the lap in 1:15:2, or the BMW 135i, running in 1:15:7.
To be a reminder, the BMW i8 plug-in hybrid, is the company`s first “green” sports car, being equipped with a hybrid synchronous motor under the hood, developing 131 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque.
The synchronous motor is backed by an l3 turbo 1.5-liter range extender, which outputs an additional 228 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque, managing a total of impressive 357 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque.
